1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Entwined Heart ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 years old if you are in the European Union) to use Entwined Heart.

2. Description of Service

Entwined Heart is a greeting card platform that allows users to create and send personalised digital cards to recipients via email. Cards are stored in recipients' personal vaults for future access.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to send content that is threatening, harassing, abusive, hateful, violent, sexually explicit, or otherwise harmful. Full details are in our Acceptable Use Policy. Violations may result in immediate account termination and referral to law enforcement where appropriate.

4. Content Moderation

All messages sent through Entwined Heart are subject to automated content moderation before delivery. We reserve the right to block any message that violates our Acceptable Use Policy. Repeated violations will result in account suspension.

5. Recipient Rights

Recipients always have the right to block a sender and/or report a card before opening it. Blocking is private — senders are never notified. We take all reports seriously and review them within 24 hours.

6. Rate Limits

To prevent misuse, each user may send a maximum of 5 cards per hour on the free plan. Higher limits are available on paid plans.

7. Disclaimer

Entwined Heart is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for the content of cards sent by users. We are not responsible for cards landing in spam folders or not being delivered due to recipient email configuration.

8. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use Entwined Heart:

  • Email addresses — of senders and recipients, to deliver cards
  • Card content — the message, heading, relationship and occasion you choose
  • IP address — used solely for rate limiting and abuse prevention
  • Email notifications — if you sign up to be notified about new features

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To deliver cards to recipients via email (SendGrid)
  • To store cards in recipients' personal vaults
  • To detect and prevent abuse and spam
  • To send product updates if you opted in

3. Content Moderation

All card messages are processed through automated moderation before delivery. This includes keyword filtering and AI-based content review via Anthropic's Claude API. Message content is not stored by our moderation systems beyond the time needed to evaluate it.

4. Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data to any third party.

5. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Union, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You also have the right to object to processing and to data portability. To exercise these rights, email us at privacy@entwinedheart.com. We will respond within 30 days.

6. Data Retention

Cards are retained in recipient vaults until the recipient deletes them. Email addresses are retained as long as accounts are active. IP addresses used for rate limiting are held in memory only and reset when our servers restart.

7. Cookies

Entwined Heart does not use tracking cookies or analytics. We use browser localStorage only to save your language preference and a small amount of UI state locally on your device. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or any third party. If you ever add analytics or tracking tools to this site, this policy will be updated and a cookie notice will be displayed.

8. Children's Privacy

Entwined Heart is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at privacy@entwinedheart.com.

Entwined Heart exists to help people express genuine connection. We take the safety of our community seriously. The following behaviours are strictly prohibited.

🚫 Prohibited content

  • Threats and violence — threatening harm to the recipient, their family, or others
  • Sexual content — explicit, pornographic, or sexually suggestive messages sent without consent
  • Hate speech — content targeting someone based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or nationality
  • Harassment — sending unwanted repeated messages, intimidation, or bullying
  • Self-harm encouragement — content that encourages or instructs someone to harm themselves
  • Child safety violations — any content that sexualises, exploits, or endangers minors. This includes grooming behaviour. We report all such cases to the relevant authorities immediately.
  • Stalking — obsessive, controlling, or monitoring language
  • Impersonation — pretending to be someone else to deceive the recipient
  • Spam — sending bulk unsolicited cards to people who have not consented to receive them

How we enforce this

All messages are reviewed by automated keyword filtering and AI-based content moderation before delivery. Messages that violate this policy are blocked before they reach the recipient. Accounts that repeatedly attempt to send prohibited content will be permanently suspended.

We take every report seriously. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours. For urgent safety concerns, please contact local emergency services first — we are not a crisis service.

Recipient protections

Every card recipient has the ability to block a sender and/or report a card before opening it. Blocking is completely private — the sender is never told they have been blocked. Blocked senders cannot contact the same recipient again through Entwined Heart.

Age requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to use Entwined Heart (16 years old in the EU). If you believe someone under this age is using the platform, please email us at safety@entwinedheart.com.

Report a violation

If you receive a card that violates this policy, use the Report button in the card notification email, or email us directly at safety@entwinedheart.com. Include as much detail as possible. All reports are confidential.
